Muichiro Tokito vs Upper Moon 5 Clip
Muichiro Tokito vs Upper Moon 5
In the hidden Swordsmith Village, a critical battle unfolds between the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and the twisted Upper Moon 5 demon, Gyokko. This fight highlights Muichiro’s mysterious past, his quiet strength, and his evolution into a true Hashira.
Gyokko, a grotesque demon obsessed with “art,” launches a horrifying attack on the swordsmiths, killing and mutilating them to turn their bodies into grotesque sculptures. With his Blood Demon Art, he manipulates porcelain vases to teleport, trap enemies, and summon deadly fish-like minions. His bizarre powers, coupled with his sadistic creativity, make him both dangerous and unpredictable.
Muichiro, initially trapped in a water-filled prison vase, is isolated from the rest of the battle. The young prodigy, known for his emotionless and aloof demeanor, is severely disadvantaged—unable to breathe, move freely, or use his Mist Breathing techniques. As time passes and death seems imminent, a turning point arises.
A young swordsmith, Kotetsu, risks his life to free Tokito by stabbing the vase and providing air. This act of courage triggers Muichiro’s memories. He begins recalling his forgotten past—his family, his twin brother Yuichiro, and the tragedy that shaped him. Originally a kind and sensitive child, Muichiro was emotionally shattered when demons killed his family. His twin, who had been bitter and cold, died protecting him. These memories reignite a fire in Muichiro’s heart—reconnecting him to his purpose and his humanity.
With renewed resolve, Muichiro unleashes the true potential of Mist Breathing. He manifests a Demon Slayer Mark, dramatically increasing his speed, perception, and attack power. From that point, the tide of the battle changes. Gyokko, furious that his “art” is being dismissed, reveals his true form—a more serpentine, armored version of himself, far faster and stronger. He uses a deadly technique where anything he touches turns into lifeless, grotesque fish. Yet Muichiro remains unshaken.
In a dazzling display of swordsmanship, Tokito begins dissecting Gyokko’s attacks with flawless precision. He moves faster than Gyokko can react, cloaking the battlefield in Mist Breathing’s haze and striking from unexpected angles. Each of his forms is like a brushstroke—controlled, elegant, and devastating. Gyokko’s confidence turns to panic.
Despite Gyokko’s desperate and brutal final assault, Muichiro remains calm. His Mist Breathing: Seventh Form — Obscuring Clouds, a technique that manipulates visibility and speed unpredictably, makes him nearly untouchable. Gyokko, completely overwhelmed and unable to react, is beheaded in a single, elegant strike, ending his reign as Upper Rank 5.
This victory marks the first time a Hashira defeats an Upper Rank demon alone since the death of Gyutaro and Daki. It’s a major turning point in the war against Muzan Kibutsuji.
Themes and Significance
Muichiro’s battle with Gyokko is more than just a test of strength—it’s a story of redemption and rediscovery. Trapped by both a demon and his own emotional void, Tokito’s journey is about reclaiming his identity. Through the act of protecting others and remembering his past, he regains his heart.
The symbolism is powerful: Muichiro begins the fight suffocating in a jar, helpless and lost. By the end, he moves freely like mist—unpredictable, unstoppable, and emotionally awakened.
Gyokko, in contrast, represents art twisted by ego and cruelty. He treats humans as materials and believes destruction is creativity. His obsession with praise and aesthetic superiority becomes his downfall, as Muichiro refuses to acknowledge him as anything more than a murderer.
In defeating Gyokko, Tokito not only proves himself as one of the most formidable Hashira but also sets an emotional example for others. He fights not out of duty, but from a place of renewed compassion and memory—a silent tribute to his brother and those he’s lost.
