After a cursed spirit attacks his friends, Yuji consumes the finger to save them, inadvertently becoming the vessel of Ryomen Sukuna, a legendary and malevolent curse. This act triggers his introduction to the world of jujutsu sorcery and sets him on a path filled with battles, loss, and moral dilemmas.
Personality and Philosophy
Yuji is often cheerful, kind-hearted, and selfless. His natural charisma and emotional intelligence help him connect with others easily, including fellow students Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki. As a jujutsu sorcerer, he learns to use Cursed Energy, allowing him to enhance his attacks and counter cursed spirits. His signature move, Divergent Fist, utilizes the delay between his physical strike and the cursed energy that follows, creating a double impact.
Yuji also learns the powerful Black Flash, a phenomenon that dramatically increases the potency of an attack when cursed energy is applied within 0.000001 seconds of physical contact. Mastering this technique puts him on par with elite sorcerers despite his relatively short time in training.
However, his most notable and dangerous “ability” is being Sukuna’s vessel. While he doesn’t control Sukuna’s power, Sukuna can take over his body in moments of weakness or death. This makes Yuji a ticking time bomb—both a hero and a potential catastrophe.
