Sanji vs Queen Clip
Sanji vs. Queen
During the intense raid on Onigashima, the battlefield is chaos, with Straw Hats, samurai, and allies clashing with Kaido’s Beast Pirates. In the midst of it, Vinsmoke Sanji takes on Queen the Plague, a high-ranking All-Star of the Beast Pirates and a massive cyborg with ancient Zoan powers. Queen, having eaten the Ancient Zoan-type Brachiosaurus Devil Fruit, is not only durable and strong, but he also possesses a vast arsenal of scientific weapons and technology—many modeled after the creations of Germa 66, the very organization Sanji left behind.
At the beginning of the fight, Sanji struggles. Queen mocks him, calling him a failed experiment and trying to provoke him by bringing up his Vinsmoke lineage and Germa 66’s “scientific enhancements.” Sanji, who has long rejected his family and its cold-blooded ideals, is disturbed to feel changes in his body—his bones heal instantly, his durability increases, and his speed improves dramatically. These are signs that his dormant Germa modifications are finally awakening. At first, this horrifies Sanji. He fears becoming like his brothers—emotionless, brutal, and inhuman. During the battle, Sanji even hurts a woman by accident, and this terrifies him. He begins to question whether he is losing his humanity. In a moment of intense emotional turmoil, Sanji smashes his Raid Suit, a powerful device given to him by his family, symbolizing his final rejection of the Vinsmoke name and legacy.
But the awakening has benefits. Sanji’s exoskeleton hardens, making him resistant to blades and blunt force. His speed surpasses even what Queen’s cybernetics can track. Sanji begins to adapt, combining his natural fighting style with his newfound strength. His signature Black Leg Style—a blend of martial arts and devastating kicks—evolves into something even more formidable.
Queen, meanwhile, shows off his twisted abilities, using Germa-inspired attacks like “Winch Ice” (Ichiji’s power), “Henry Blazer” (Niji’s lightning), and “Stealth Black” (Sanji’s own Raid Suit power). He even turns his brachiosaurus body into a giant, serpent-like cannon and reveals weapons hidden inside his neck. He tries every trick to beat Sanji, but the Straw Hat doesn’t back down.
With the fight escalating, Sanji finally embraces the idea that he doesn’t need to be like his brothers to use the strength he inherited. He channels his emotion and compassion into battle—not as a soldier of Germa, but as Sanji of the Straw Hat Pirates. His flames burn hotter than ever. In a stunning display of willpower and power, he unveils his new technique: Ifrit Jambe.
Unlike Diable Jambe, which heats up his leg through friction, Ifrit Jambe is enhanced by his exoskeleton, speed, and Haki. The flames are blue, hotter, and more destructive than ever before. Sanji combines this with powerful kicks like Boef Burst and Bœuf Shot, overwhelming Queen.
In a final, high-speed assault, Sanji blitzes Queen, dodging his attacks effortlessly and landing blow after blow. The finale is spectacular—Sanji launches Queen with a blazing, full-powered kick that sends him flying out of Onigashima and knocks him out cold.
Themes and Significance
This battle is more than a clash of strength—it’s a defining moment in Sanji’s character arc. For years, Sanji has battled with his identity: a prince who ran away, a cook who fights without using his hands, a man caught between chivalry and war. The Queen fight forces him to confront his fears of becoming a monster. In rejecting his family’s values while still accepting the strength in his blood, Sanji finally forges his own identity.
He doesn’t win because of science—he wins because of heart, loyalty, and resolve. His empathy remains intact, and he solidifies his role as one of the Monster Trio, standing tall beside Luffy and Zoro.
