Toji Fushiguro Return Twixtor
Toji Fushiguro Return
Toji Fushiguro’s return during the Shibuya Incident arc in Jujutsu Kaisen, created by Gege Akutami, is one of the most shocking and electrifying moments in the series. Though he died years earlier after his battle with Satoru Gojo, Toji’s reappearance proves that even death cannot easily erase a force of nature like the Sorcerer Killer.
Toji was originally introduced in the Hidden Inventory arc as a mercenary assassin with no cursed energy due to a Heavenly Restriction. In exchange for lacking cursed energy, his body was honed to superhuman perfection. His speed, strength, reflexes, and senses surpassed even elite sorcerers. He defeated powerful figures such as Satoru Gojo (temporarily) and Suguru Geto, leaving a lasting scar on the jujutsu world. After completing his mission to assassinate Riko Amanai, Toji was ultimately killed by a fully awakened Gojo.
Years later, during the chaos of the Shibuya Incident, Toji’s body is resurrected through a séance technique performed by Ogami, a curse user. The technique allows her to summon the physical information of a deceased person into a living vessel. However, Toji is no ordinary man. Because his body possesses zero cursed energy and operates purely on physical instinct, he overwhelms the control of the séance technique itself.
Instead of being a puppet, Toji takes full control of the vessel. This unexpected twist instantly shifts the battlefield. No longer bound by the summoner’s will, Toji becomes an uncontrollable weapon driven by combat instinct. His return is silent yet terrifying. Without cursed energy to detect, he moves like a phantom through the chaos of Shibuya. One of the first displays of his dominance is against Dagon, a Special Grade cursed spirit. At the time, several powerful sorcerers—including Naobito Zenin, Nanami Kento, and Maki Zenin—are trapped inside Dagon’s Domain Expansion and struggling to survive. Just as the situation becomes desperate, Toji enters the domain through sheer physical force.
Inside a domain, most sorcerers are at a severe disadvantage due to guaranteed-hit techniques. However, Toji’s Heavenly Restriction makes him immune to traditional cursed energy targeting. He cuts through Dagon’s attacks effortlessly. Armed with the Playful Cloud cursed tool, he overwhelms the Special Grade spirit with raw speed and devastating strikes. In a matter of moments, Toji accomplishes what multiple experienced sorcerers could not—he exorcises Dagon almost single-handedly.
This moment re-establishes Toji as one of the most physically terrifying characters in the series. His lack of cursed energy, once seen as a weakness, becomes his ultimate advantage. In a world dependent on supernatural perception, Toji exists outside the system entirely.
After defeating Dagon, Toji’s instincts guide him toward the strongest nearby presence—his own son, Megumi Fushiguro. Their brief clash carries heavy emotional weight. Though initially fighting without recognition, Toji regains a fragment of awareness. Upon learning that Megumi still bears the Fushiguro name and has not been fully claimed by the Zenin clan, Toji experiences an unexpected moment of peace.
In an act that contrasts sharply with his ruthless reputation, Toji chooses to end his own life rather than continue existing as a mindless weapon. This decision prevents him from harming his son and brings closure to a man who lived detached from family and society.
Toji’s return is significant for multiple reasons. It demonstrates the overwhelming power of Heavenly Restriction at its peak. It reshapes the balance of the Shibuya Incident. And most importantly, it provides emotional resolution to his story. Unlike many characters who return from death for extended arcs, Toji’s reappearance is brief but impactful—like a lightning strike that changes everything before vanishing.
In the end, Toji Fushiguro’s return is not just a display of power. It is a reminder that even in a world ruled by cursed energy, pure human will and physical perfection can defy fate itself.
