Gabimaru, also known as Gabimaru the Hollow, is the central protagonist of Hell’s Paradise, a dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku. Set in the brutal world of ninja clans and deadly criminals, Gabimaru stands out as a character defined by contradiction—an elite assassin who claims to feel nothing, yet whose deepest strength comes from love.
Gabimaru was born and raised in Iwagakure, a hidden village of shinobi where children were molded into emotionless killing machines. The island, however, is a nightmarish paradise filled with monstrous beings and grotesque dangers. Paired with executioner Sagiri, Gabimaru enters this deadly mission not for glory, but for the simple hope of returning home.
On the island, Gabimaru’s abilities truly shine. He combines traditional ninja techniques with extraordinary physical endurance. One of his signature abilities involves manipulating his body’s internal heat, allowing him to ignite himself in flames without burning—an ability reflecting both his training and inner intensity. His combat style is efficient and lethal, but not reckless. He adapts quickly, studies his opponents, and strikes with calculated precision.
