Hiromi Higuruma Twixtor

Hiromi Higuruma is one of the most fascinating and morally complex characters introduced in the later arcs of the manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. Created by Gege Akutami, Higuruma represents the theme of justice in a world filled with curses, corruption, and moral ambiguity. His character blends intellect, anger, and a deep desire for fairness, making him stand out among the many powerful sorcerers and fighters in the series. Hiromi Higuruma was originally a defense attorney before becoming a jujutsu sorcerer. As a lawyer, he dedicated his life to protecting the innocent and ensuring that the legal system worked as it was meant to. However, over time he became disillusioned with the justice system. He constantly witnessed situations where innocent people were punished while the guilty walked free because of technicalities, manipulation, or lack of evidence. This frustration slowly built up inside him as he realized that the system he trusted was deeply flawed. His experiences in court exposed him to the darker side of human nature, where truth and fairness were often overshadowed by power and influence.

Everything changed for Higuruma during the chaos of the Culling Game, a deadly competition created by Kenjaku. In this brutal event, ordinary people suddenly gained cursed techniques and were forced to fight for survival. Higuruma was one of those individuals who awakened a powerful cursed ability. Unlike many others who immediately embraced violence, Higuruma’s power manifested in a way that reflected his profession and inner conflict with justice.

His cursed technique, known as Deadly Sentencing, is one of the most unique abilities in the series. When activated, it summons a courtroom-like domain called the Domain Expansion: Deadly Sentencing. Inside this domain, a shikigami called Judgeman appears and conducts a trial against Higuruma’s opponent. The trial determines whether the accused is guilty of a specific crime. Evidence is presented, and the opponent must defend themselves. If Judgeman declares them guilty, a penalty is applied. One of the most dangerous punishments is the confiscation of the opponent’s cursed technique. In severe cases, Higuruma gains access to the Executioner’s Sword, a weapon capable of instantly killing anyone it strikes if they are found guilty.

This ability reflects Higuruma’s background perfectly. Unlike other sorcerers who rely purely on destructive power, Higuruma’s technique revolves around judgment, logic, and consequences. His battles feel like intense psychological confrontations rather than simple fights.

During the Culling Game, Higuruma encounters Yuji Itadori. Their encounter becomes one of the most emotionally powerful moments in the story. Instead of a straightforward fight, their battle turns into a courtroom drama. Yuji is accused of mass murder related to the destruction caused by Ryomen Sukuna, the curse residing inside him. Yuji accepts responsibility for the deaths caused by Sukuna, even though he was not in control at the time.

Higuruma is deeply shaken by Yuji’s honesty and willingness to accept guilt. This moment forces him to reflect on his own beliefs about justice. For years, Higuruma believed the world was unfair and corrupt, but Yuji’s sincerity reminds him that true responsibility and morality still exist. Moved by Yuji’s character, Higuruma chooses to surrender his accumulated Culling Game points to him, allowing Yuji and his allies to create a new rule in the game.

Personality-wise, Higuruma is calm, intelligent, and analytical. However, beneath this composed exterior lies a man burdened by anger and disappointment toward society. He is not cruel or sadistic; rather, he is someone who genuinely wants justice but has lost faith in the system meant to uphold it. This internal conflict makes him one of the most human characters in the series.

In terms of combat ability, Higuruma is extremely skilled despite being a relatively new sorcerer. His natural intelligence allows him to adapt quickly during battles, and his Domain Expansion is considered incredibly dangerous even by experienced sorcerers. Unlike many characters who rely on brute strength, Higuruma’s power comes from strategy, judgment, and psychological pressure.

Overall, Hiromi Higuruma represents the idea that justice is complicated. Through his story, Jujutsu Kaisen explores questions about guilt, responsibility, and morality. His character adds depth to the series by showing that true strength is not only about power but also about understanding the weight of one’s decisions. ⚖️🔥
